Eating well in Palma
Palma is best eaten neighbourhood by neighbourhood. Our regulars:
Old town:
- El Camino: tapas at a long counter watching the cooks. Book well ahead.
- Bar Espanya and Bodega Morey: classic tapas, good and fairly priced; arrive early.
- FERVOR: for its seafood paella.
- Ca n'Ela: vegan, next to La Llotja, with a set lunch menu (closed on Sundays).
- S'Oli 13: weekday set lunch on a quiet square.
Markets (mornings and lunchtime): the counters at Mercat de l'Olivar (oysters and a glass of wine) and Mercat de Santa Catalina, where Bar Joan Frau does frito mallorquín.
True Mallorcan cooking: Casa Maruka, family-run and always full; book.
Local breakfast: a llonguet at Bar Tony or hot chocolate with ensaimada at Ca'n Joan de s'Aigo.
