Casa Ton
Fish and seafood in an old harbour house.
View in the app · free, no sign-upOne street back from the Port d'Andratx promenade, in an old fisherman’s house on Carrer d'Isaac Peral, Casa Ton goes against the grain of the waterfront restaurants: a handful of tables, an inner courtyard with Mediterranean décor and a short menu that depends on what came in at the fish market. It bills itself as an oyster bar, and oysters open most dinners, alongside mojama (cured tuna) and Mallorcan red prawns, which simply aren’t on when a storm has kept the boats in: they tell you when you book rather than serve something else. After that comes wild fish of the day from the plancha, monkfish or megrim, carabinero prawns with potatoes, tartares and a house dish of roasted peppers with sturgeon. There’s a Galician accent in the seafood salpicón, the occasional marmitako and a wine list with Galician whites and the odd orange wine, where it pays to take advice. Service explains the produce table by table. It’s expensive for what lands on the plate, and the short menu is sometimes half-available if the catch hasn’t arrived; anyone after big portions leaves disappointed, while those after carefully handled fresh seafood come back.
