MUCBO, the Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences, shares an estate with the Sóller Botanical Garden at the entrance to Sóller, on the Palma road (km 30.5); both opened in 1992 and are run by a non-profit foundation. One ticket covers both. For kids aged about 5 to 12 it's a well-rounded outing: the palaeontology room has a mounted skeleton of Myotragus, the dwarf goat that once lived on Mallorca, ichthyosaur vertebrae found in Sóller, megalodon teeth and a life-size fossil sea cow. At reception they lend a lab coat with a map and tools so children can play explorer. There are no dinosaurs, and parking nearby is tricky. Adults pay €9.
