Glass pavilion at the end of the jetty, open all year since 1972
View in the app · free, no sign-upIt opened in June 1972 on the Moll Nou in Port de Pollença, set up by Miquel Ferrer and Juan Cerdá, two pioneers of tourism in the Port. In 1989 José María and Verónica Gassó took it over, and in 2005 they knocked it down completely and rebuilt it with the architect Luis García Ruiz: the current contemporary building on the water's edge reopened in 2006 with almost all of the previous team. That continuity explains what kind of place it is: a classic harbour restaurant, open 365 days a year with the kitchen running non-stop from noon until nine in the evening, which is rare around here. The menu blends local produce with European-style dishes you won't find elsewhere in the Port. From the island come the boneless shoulder of Mallorcan lamb, slow-braised, and the bluefin tuna tartare, caught in the bay by the boats of Blue Fin Balear, based in the Port itself. Asturian beef appears as tartare and as grilled sirloin, and alongside it there's home-made truffled liver pâté with brioche, crispy duck rolls with plum sauce or rabbit chasseur on polenta. Desserts are all home-made, with an ensaïmada tiramisu and an apple strudel that show off that double heritage, and to go with them, Dolç de Gel from the Mortitx winery in the Pollença hills. The wine list runs to over a hundred labels. There's a set menu with a choice of starter and main, dessert, coffee, water and wine included, plus vegan and children's menus.
