Beni Axir
Produce-led cooking among gardens and Mallorcan fields.
View in the app · free, no sign-upBeni Axir is the restaurant of the Es Racó d'Artà hotel, an estate of vines, olive groves and fruit trees on the road to Cala Mitjana, with a terrace that looks across to the town of Artà and the Sant Salvador sanctuary on the hilltop. The name recalls the estate’s Berber origins, and the cooking starts with what’s around it: vegetables and herbs from the house’s own organic gardens, visible from the table, and produce from small growers in the area. The menu changes with the seasons. What explains it best is the simplest food: a garden courgette salad with burrata that stands out for its freshness, a sardine coca, rockfish such as grilled scorpion fish, island pork or a creamy rice. There’s a whole vegetarian section, and the estate makes its own wine, which the floor team often lets you taste before pouring; that warm, attentive service is what diners praise most. It also serves breakfast. It’s adults only (14 and over) and open to non-residents. This is well-handled produce cooking rather than a tasting-menu affair; anyone after haute-cuisine technique may find it a little thin for the price.
