Puig de Maria

Puig de Maria is the hill rising beside Pollença, topped by the 14th-century sanctuary of the Mare de Déu del Puig at around 330 metres. The walk up from Pollença is steep but manageable for most people: about 40–50 minutes, first on tarmac and then on a cobbled path that gets slippery in the rain. From the top you look over the bays of Pollença and Alcúdia, the Serra de Tramuntana and the Albufera wetlands. You'll often meet goats on the way. The sanctuary was closed from 2023 and is being restored: the café first, then the guesthouse, planned for 2026. It's free to walk up.
