Es Caló de s'Estaca isn't a beach: it's a cluster of stone fishermen's huts right on the water, with their ramps, slabs and a little jetty, tucked under the cliffs of the Valldemossa coast between Port de Valldemossa and Miramar. There's no sand and no facilities, not even water to buy; you climb down onto the rocks or the slabs of the jetty and swim in the small round pool of sea the harbour forms, with very clear water. Only residents may drive the hamlet's road, so you walk in. The usual route starts from the Port de Valldemossa road (Ma-1131), just before kilometre 4, where a small lay-by fills up by mid-morning: about 2 km of path along the hillside, with some fairly steep stretches, around 6 km there and back; longer routes from higher up follow the Archduke's paths and viewpoints. The way back, uphill all the way, is harder than the way down. What makes it special is that sense of a tiny village between the mountains and the sea, the sunsets and, in a calm sea, very good snorkelling because so few people come. Worth knowing: some days bring jellyfish, seaweed and debris washed in by the tide, and the huts are private homes – the owners ask people to stay off their terraces and take their rubbish (and their dog's) away. It's for walkers in proper shoes and a swim at the end of the route, not for a day lying on a towel.
