The Frédéric Chopin and George Sand Museum occupies the cells of the Valldemossa Charterhouse where the two spent the winter of 1838–39, hoping the mild climate would ease Chopin's lung disease; they left after three unhappy months. The star is the Pleyel piano shipped from Paris, one of only two left in the world, in the very room where Chopin finished his preludes. There are historical documents and a garden with panoramic views. It appeals mostly to Chopin fans.
