Valldemossa Charterhouse

Valldemossa’s landmark: the palace King Sanç of Mallorca had built in 1309, later handed to Carthusian monks until the church lands were seized in 1835. Chopin and George Sand stayed here in the winter of 1838. The visit takes in the cells, the neoclassical church, the tower built after a pirate raid in 1553, a 1723 monastic pharmacy that’s one of the best preserved in Europe, and the municipal museum, with an old printing press, a room on the Archduke and Miró prints.
