Puig de l'Ofre

The pyramid you see from Sóller, climbed from Cúber reservoir on the GR 221

The perfect pyramid you see from Sóller: 1,091 metres of pine and rock. You start at the Cúber reservoir, right on the Tramuntana mountain road, and for almost an hour the GR 221 runs flat along the water and climbs gently to Coll de l'Ofre, where the Sóller valley suddenly opens up below. There you leave the GR and the real climb begins: about 190 metres of steep forest slope, no scrambling, to the top. Up there the Biniaraix gorge lies at your feet, Puig Major faces you and the sea at Port de Sóller shines in the distance. It's about 11.5 km out and back.
