Sunset Lounge

The Jumeirah looks down on Port de Sóller from the top of the cliff, and the Sunset Lounge is at the very top of its main building: a terrace and bar with 180 degrees of sea in front, facing exactly where the sun goes down. That's the reason to come up, and the hotel knows it. The food is Nikkei, the Japanese–Peruvian blend, served as sharing plates: the sushi — including vegetarian versions — and the wagyu get the most mentions, alongside a long list of signature cocktails and a good wine cellar. As evening falls a DJ plays and the mood is luxury-hotel lounge, with the noise that brings on some nights. Plenty of people come only for a drink before dinner elsewhere, which is a sensible way to try it: prices are five-star across the board, from cocktails to bottled water. It works best for a special occasion or for watching the sunset unhurried from a spot very few places have; for a good dinner for less, the port has other options.
